• Kailash Shahani, Managing Director, Morpheus Human Consulting Pvt Ltd, in an interview with People and Management, shares his valuable thoughts on HR solution market, role of technology in HR, Morpheus’ strategy and future plans. Excerpts:

Share with us the vision and strategy of Morpheus Human Consulting.

Morpheus Vision: "We build your assets through human capital". The vision clearly stresses that people are assets and not mere numbers. There is always a tendency to protect assets and value them. We, at Morpheus, clearly believe that the word Human Capital adds dignity to our Business - not as Brokers, not as Manpower Suppliers, not as CV Suppliers but as Consultants dealing in a precious commodity - Human Capital.

Our Strategy: Morpheus believes in true partnership to provide its clients long-term HR solutions through a thorough understanding of their business goals, expectations and requirements, allowing the clients to focus on growing their business and people development.

In this tech-savvy world, how is technology changing the way HR does its job?

In 2013, organisations finally began in earnest to integrate social technologies into recruitment and other employee engagement practices. In 2014, this social integration will become the status quo.

The digital immigrants have now caught up to the digital natives – we are all now digital citizens. The fastest growing demographic on Google+ is 45-54 and on Twitter is 55-64! We, at Morpheus, believe this trend is only going to get better and therefore we have created a strong online presence. Our Facebook page which we started few years back has more than 22000 users and an active presence on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Google+ only demonstrates our commitment to this changing way of doing business.

We use this platform extensively while we work on our partners assignments so as to map candidates which we ideally wouldn’t have found on typical search portals.

Please share future growth plans of your company?

Morpheus is currently based out of 14 cities in India and Middle East with nearly 80 consultants empanelled with us. We have serviced more than 1500 clients across verticals and time is right to capitalise on our existing relationships. We have set ourselves a realistic target of 95 percent client satisfaction index so as to ensure repeat business from our existing partners. We have operations in Middle East and Africa for past few years and business sentiment has really been positive in this region especially after Expo 2020 coming to Dubai.

How do you see the growth of HR Solution market in India in the next five years?

As per latest Monster.com survey, the industry is set to grow 14 percent YOY as 17 industries out of 27 have shown a positive trend on hiring needs. We, at Morpheus, believe of not putting all eggs in one basket and therefore we service multiple industries across levels so as to ensure that we sustain different market situations. We are really looking forward to next five years considering all our hard work and dedication has created a great launch pad for this company to take off.

What are your biggest professional achievements, and what priorities have you set for the future?

Morpheus is one of the few companies in this segment which is NSIC certified. We are also CRISIL rated, giving us a rating of a strong potential to grow. Since we are a process driven company, we are also ISO certified and our real focus has always been on Quality and not Quantity. We have been nominated for “Business of the Year – 2013” at an event sponsored by SBI and Vodafone. However, our biggest achievement, I would personally like to cherish, is when our partners give us a rating of 10/10 and continue to provide us with a follow up business.
